Speech Therapist Services

The Speech Pathology team provide assessment, diagnosis, intervention, and management in the areas of communication and swallowing.

What is a Speech Therapist?

Speech pathologists are healthcare professionals who specialise in diagnosing and treating communication disorders. This can include difficulties with speaking, listening, understanding language, reading, writing, social skills, stuttering, and using voice.

Speech Pathologists also help those who experience difficulties swallowing food and to drink safely with an aim to improve the independence and quality of life.   They will:

  • Identify the areas in which the person needs assistance

  • Develop a plan to address these difficulties

  •  Provide support and guidance to help the person overcome their difficulties

How our Speech Therapists help

At Well Balanced Care, we work closely with individuals who experience communication difficulties as a result of developmental disorders, brain injuries, learning disabilities, intellectual disabilities, dementia, and hearing loss. We provide speech therapy services to help these individuals improve their communication skills and quality of life.

Our Speech Pathologists will do an assessment to determine the type and severity of the difficulties experienced. They will then develop a specific plan customised to the individual to help treat and/or support the client.

By helping our clients live their lives the way they want, our speech pathologists make a significant impact to the individual and on the community.
